This collection of works represents the melding of personal traumas, healing and socio-political views of two artists with very distinct styles. Like many artists from the inner city, their intention is to act as conduits that channel both the beauty and grit of their surroundings. Ultimately, the goal is to focus the resulting chaos into something serene and hopefully provocative.

‘Underrepresented Power’ Mural Series

This series of murals showcase the beauty of women of color; highlighting the power and impact they have in our culture. Our focus on this subject was inspired by their under-representation in media, American society and even the art world. We realized, even in the art books that we came up studying and admiring, most of it mainly reflected European beauty standards. In our own way, we’re trying to be a part of a new renaissance where the standards of beauty are no longer exclusive.

‘In the Wind’ paintings

This series of acrylic paintings focuses on eternal beauty. Amongst the fleeting, true internal beauty is eternal. These paintings feature women juxtaposed amongst a decaying environment. Perhaps a bit stoic and at the same time gracefully unshaken, they symbolize the beauty within a passing moment.

City Beauty Murals

City beautification seems a simple enough concept. Theres beauty in our cities already. Sometimes we’re asked to highlight it.
